Can Absolut deal with any kind of curls?

Yes. This product works on the internal structure of the hair loosening its cystine bonds to give them a new, permanently straightened shape.

How long will the treatment last?

This process will permanently straighten the area to which it has been applied. New hair growth will have its original shape. We recommend root touch-ups depending on the type of hair and curl and the rate of growth. It’s not necessary to reapply to areas that have already been treated.

Absolut can be applied to dyed hair?

Yes, as long as the hair is in good condition. It’s important to evaluate the hair’s condition to determine the product strength (natural or colored) and then carry out pre-treatment several days before straightening. It’s essential to take special care of previously lightened hair. You must inform your hairdresser about any previous hair treatments you have had before applying Absolut.

Can Absolut damage my hair?

No. Absolut is the first relaxer designed as a complete treatment to act on both the cortex and the hair surface without the need for formaldehyde. Advanced straightening technology that, thanks to its hydrolyzed keratin content, also cares for the hair and improves its quality, shine and texture. It’s very important to follow the instructions and know which strength is most suitable for each hair type (natural or colored); if an inappropriate strength is used and damaged areas are left unprotected your hair’s health could be compromised.  

Is it possible to straighten short hair?

Because of the way the product is applied at least 5 centimeters of hair are necessary for the treatment to be successful. This applies to both men and women. However, it’s important to bear in mind that results are related to the hair’s length, in that longer hair adds extra weight and therefore influences favorably in the end results, being especially noticeable in heavy, voluminous hair.

Absolut is compatible with texturizers?

Absolut can deal with any curls, even perm curls. It’s important to evaluate the hair’s condition. If it’s in a bad way then it’ll be necessary to start off with a repairing treatment before using Absolut. It’s important to remember that permed hair is especially sensitive and that the most gentle strength should be applied and great care taken throughout the process to ensure the hair isn’t damaged. It’s also recommendable to pre-treat the hair several days earlier.

Is it a permanent straightener?

This is a permanent straightener, although after several weeks a texturizer may be applied to curl hair. Hair that has already had its structure modified, will take on newly applied shape much quicker and exposure time should be reduced accordingly.  It’s always recommendable to do a resistance test and use lower strength products to avoid sensitizing the hair.

Is Absolut compatible with hair color?

Absolut is perfectly compatible with hair color. It’s important to bear in mind the hair’s porosity in this case.

If both Absolut and color are applied on the same day or in a timeframe of 48 hours it’s advisable to apply Absolut first and then the hair color.

With regards to highlights, first apply Absolut then the highlights. In this case we recommend a wait of at least 48 hours between treatments. Hair that has previously applied highlights should go through a pre-treatment and the Absolut colored hair strength used.
